On the other hand, I am very happy to hear that the software is working correctly. If you know what updates were installed, it may help us to determine what caused the issue in the first place.
Regarding the issue you mentioned with your screen sounds like it could be a software issue, I would double check your video drivers and windows settings just to be sure.
