Hi Guys,

I am running Service Center 7.9 under Windows. This was installed with the USB key inserted.

When this is installed on a Dell Optiplex 745 and run under Windows XP SP3 (Fully updated) I get a blank black screen (which is XULRUNNER-STUB.EXE).

Here are steps to reproduce

Steps to reproduce:
1. Insert Service Center Disc
2. Choose Install - From autorun
3. Install the product using defaults
4. Double click the Service Center icon
5. Blank screen opens up.

The screen is black with the following menu items available
(Literally letters inside brackets)
(F) (T) and (H)

Under (F) there is (I) (R) and (X)
Under (T) there is (G)
Under (H) there is (C) (U) (O) and (A)

None of the sub-items can be clicked with the mouse.

(it appears that the menu is not fully populated).
Clicking on the "X" in the top right of the black window does not terminate the application. To terminate the application you need to terminate the XULRUNNER-STUB.EXE process in windows task manager.

Hi Guys,

Ok more information.

James, to answer your question:
The Dell Optiplex 745 comes with a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3000

The driver installed is a "Intel 4 Series Internal Chipset" driver.
Version: 6.14.10.5009
Date: 3-November-2008

The support email from Ernie asks a few questions which I will answer here:
1.  I am using the original not burned media
Ernie sent me a link to download a new version.  I will download, burn and test and give feedback in a reply to this thread.

Thanks
Accumulo

Hi James and Ernie,

We Donwloaded the image and burnt it using IMGBurn 2.5.7.0 at 4x speed.

We uninstalled the previous Service Center and re-installed with the new version Ernie provided. We did not need to update the USB Key.

The updated program loaded perfectly. We are running tests now and it is working fine under windows.

The new version on the disc is 7.9.5953.49.

Thanks so much for your efforts.

Quick update for others who may also be experiencing the issue where a
mostly black window is seen after launching Service Center:

* We've seen this issue with both stampled original Service Center discs
and burned backup copies
* While we do not know the exact root cause for what is causing this
issue, new media generally seems to help

If you do experience this issue, please open a support ticket
(http://www.pcdservicecenter.com/support.php) and a link to a bin/cue
image will be provided so that you can burn a new copy.  It would be
useful if you included a link to this forum post so we can track how
prevalent this issue is.
