I suddenly had a couple laptops come into the shop, were the customer wasnt really able to afford replacing the units, but wanted to see why they where not booting.
Unfortunately they did not have a mini-PCI slot, or a mini-PCI Express slot (I know PC-Doctor doesnt support the mini Express slots), or anything of the sort.
Has anyone heard of, or used a USB Stick, VGA plugin, or even a PCMCIA/PC Card device that might read the POST details in lue of being able to plug in these cards?
Yes, I tend to get a series of 'older equipment' come through from customers just wanting to extend the life just the little bit longer, and I hate HAVING to turn it into a sales opportunity (even tho its a valid one). Would like to be able to say why, instead of saying 'its to much trouble cause my diagnostics dont support your obsolete machine)
