HDD Linear Verify

Hello,

I have an HP that failed at one sector for the linear verify test. The rest of the test it passed, including the long HD SMART test. Is the drive still good?

The test was done in DOS mode.

Hello rhrtech,

The test is failing due to finding a number of bad sectors on the drive.  This does not necessarily mean that the drive is bad.  If you are not seeing a performance hit, SMART errors or loss of data, then I wouldn't be too concerned about the drive at this time.
