Hi PC doc experts

I am testig this PC:
ThinkCentre M52/3.0GHZ/P4. 8212-1QG.

The USB device flashes red. The only test that did not pass is
Local Video Memory Test.
It's result is "Not Supported"

What does that mean? Is it PC doc that do not support the video memory on the PC or is there something wrong with the videocard on the PC? Or something else?

chrmarker,

It means that testing the on card video memory is unreliable so it is not tested.

On some systems the VESA (old school DOS stuff) emulation is incomplete or the card reports it can do things it cant. This causes the test to fail.  This is not a problem in windows as the video driver knows not to go there.

In these situations it is best to test in the video card in Windows.

The test is run in windows.

I have attached a picture of the Local Video Memory result.

What do you make of it?

chrmarker,

If you would please go to the Lenovo site below and check the PC-Doctor and video driver version listed there against what is installed on the machine.
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-60651.html

The same limitations apply in windows testing.  Sometimes the drivers get it wrong also.  In our QA process we identify this and will skip tests that will give a false failure and display the Not Supported message.

PC-Doctor is installed on this machine from the factory.  Try running the native PC-Doctor that is on the machine and compare results.  You may even want to download the latest version of Lenovo System Toolbox and run it.
