I'm unable to see in the test log what the error is? It has a bunch of CMOS RAM dump, but just ends - like there is an overflow of the log file?

How can I determine what the actual error is?

jmp242,

What version of PCDR are you running? What type of system are you running it on? With that many errors I would guess the video subsystem is having a very bad day or it is something PCDR does not understand.

You can increase the log file size by exiting to DOS and editing the pcdr.ini file.  In the [PCDR] section add iTsfLogSize=65520 to increase the logfile to the maximum 16 bit size.  It should look like this;

[PCDR]
iTsfLogSize=65520

Hmmm in the CMOS RAM listing, it doesn't actually list an error, but it doesn't pass either.

I'm running PC Doctor Service Center 7 on a Lenovo T500 laptop with switchable graphics, set to use the PCI-E graphics card which is an ATI mobility card (I can look it up if necessary). I wouldn't be suprised if SC7 is getting confused by the fact that there are 2 graphics cards, and Intel and an ATI. I get confused by that in a laptop!

I ended up running tests individually and got only an error on USB external loopback (The USB Dongle was inserted - the DOS version was booted from it). Is this likely then a USB / motherboard failure?

The reason I ask is I'm trying to narrow down the freeze we had in Windows XP SP3 on this hardware recently. It occured after some unable to read from memory location errors. The Windows Event Log showed multiple errors trying to access the HD, so I originally thought the HD was dying, but quick and normal HD tests in SC7 pass the HD.

jmp242,

The Lenovo laptop will have the OEM version of PC-Doctor available.  The windows version is probably on the laptop (preloaded by Lenovo) and the DOS version downloadable from the Lenovo support site.

See if you can lay your hands on these,  There is considerable customization done for these systems.

Just adding my $0.02... as I do a lot of support and testing on Lenovo ThinkPad units... coincidentally a T500 last week with a similar problem (BSODs and Event Log showing disk I/O read/write failures).

The SC7 CMOS RAM tests will fail because Lenovo sets their CMOS RAM as read-only. So, this is an 'expected' failure on Lenovo ThinkPads.

Anyway, I don't know about the motherboard/USB issue that you are seeing, but my T500 issue turned out to be the Intel storage driver. Removing the driver solved the issue with the BSODs and I/O errors.
