I have PC Doctor Service Center 7.5.
I'm running the DOS "Long HD Test" on a Toshiba MK5055GSX laptop.
The "Long HD Test" has been taking a very long time and seems to be getting slower as it goes. It's been running for over 25.5 hours.
The "Long HD Test" as gotten through the first 5 of the 9 tests and seems to be hanging on the 6th "Linear Verify" test. It's making very slow progress at 462,418,432 or 976,773,168 after over 25.5 hours. I suspect a bad hard drive but no errors have appeared?
Any suggestions?

Curt,

I believe you are correct about needing a new hard drive.  The long test is a SMART long test that is actually a test built into the hard drive that PC-Doctor kicks off. It is odd that you have not received an error or timed out.  The drive must be giving just enough information to PC-Doctor to keep that from happening.
