Hi, i am running quick test for IBM Thinkpad R61, the test keep on performing as below

"CMOS RAM................................
  Addr 38H, Indata=FFH, Outdata=00H
  Addr 39H, Indata=FFH, Outdata=00H
  Addr 3AH, Indata=FFH, Outdata=00H
  Addr 3BH, Indata=FFH, Outdata=00H
  Addr 3CH, Indata=FFH, Outdata=00H
  Addr 3DH, Indata=FFH, Outdata=00H
...."

and it is taking very long time. and when it's stop, it only manage to run 43 test out of 61.

how am i able to complete all the test? anywhere to shorten the testing time?

johnchua,

This happens when parts of CMOS ram are marked as read write but are in fact write protected.  Unfortunately there is no way to speed it up as each address has to error out in turn which takes time. The only way to speed up total testing time is to skip the CMOS ram tests.

IBM thinkpads have OEM builds created especially for all laptops, and desktop systems. These may be found on the IBM/Lenovo website in the download section for the particular model.  These builds are custom tailored by us for each individual system and their particular needs.

johnchua,

Yes, just navigate to the CMOS test, pressing the spacebar will toggle the test on or off.

You can then save this and any other changes to an Overlay by pressing F2 while in one of the category screens.  The overlays are stored in a pcdr.pdo file that can then be saved and used again or even to replace it on the USB key or in a custom CD you create.

Please take a look at the advanced users guide for more information on this and many other capabilities of the product.
