I have a Compaq CQ5210F that has the built in hardware pc doctor diagnostic tool. I received that error but did not write down the error code. HP will not process the warranty on the hard drive with out that error code. Does anyone know it?

FattysGoneWild,

Just run it again and write down the error code.  SMART tests are internal drive tests and once tripped should be easily reproduced.

There are many error codes that it could put out, guessing or giving you a list would not be appropriate.

That is the thing though. I have ran the test several times trying to get it to come up. It still has not happened to me again.

FattysGoneWild,

Then it may have been a transient error.  A bad sector that has been remapped or such.  If it passes testing now no need to replace it.
