decoding vendor/ device ID's

I have just run PC doctor on a used Lenovo T42 laptop in and effort to determine which drivers I need to download form Lenovo's supprt site. PC doctor version five only lists a vendor ID and Device ID in a number format. This means what?
Specifically Vendor ID: 32902 Device ID 4126
Vendor ID 5272

This means those are the values the vendor chose to put in the registers.  The closest thing to a “secret decoder ring” that I have been able to find is:

Lenovo T42 drivers can be downloaded from their site;

You can narrow it down pretty well within model variation and OS.

thanks. Once I understood that I could use the PCI vendor and device codes (eg: 0x8086  0x24c6) and google them I was able to find out what the device was and download the correct drivers.
