Hello, well first and foremost my name is Dimitris.
I am a Circuit City Firedog Supervising Technician here in Lakewood, CA. I've been having some issues recently with our PC-Doctor SC6 and Dongles. My first SC6 console I had was lost by one of our techs here, so we ordered another one through corporate but we had 2 dongles. My first question is this; Are the dongles made to work specifically for the disc in which they are purchased with? Because I have the whole PC-Doctor 6 with the bag and what not. And after losing the first one and ordering a new PCD6, the dongle from the old one did not work anymore. By not working I do mean if inserted it says that a locking device is required. Now it is doing that for both of my dongles. I have plugged them in my main desktop and have restored them using the cd. Still no luck. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dimitris

firedemon187,

The dongles are not matched with distribution media.  There are some machines that require changes in BIOS settings (to enable them to boot from USB Key)and some older machines that they will not work on at all.

Set the machine to boot from USB key and attempt to boot from the dongle. If this can be done and it locks when booted from the dongle it should work in windows.

You could have received a bad dongle, it doesn't happen very often but it has happened before.  Let me know the results of the procedure I mentioned above and we'll get you fixed up.
