Hello

So, while running PCDoctor Service Centre 7.5 4.0.1808.02, I noticed that it failed an odd test. I have run hundreds of diagnostics with the PCDoctor in DOS, and never had I had a computer fail DMA channels. Would this by a major problem motherboard related? What exactly would cause the DMA Channels to fail?

DMA Channels............................
  Channel 0 register patterns failed
  Channel 1 register patterns failed
  Channel 2 register patterns failed
  Channel 3 register patterns failed
  Channel 5 register patterns failed
Channel 5 page register patterns failed
  Channel 6 register patterns failed
Channel 6 page register patterns failed
  Channel 7 register patterns failed
Channel 7 page register patterns failed
DMA Channels............................FAILED  12/03/2010 17:28

ksagert,

What type of system is this?

I suspect the system is set to ACPI and compatibility is not turned on in the BIOS. If this is the case then the "errors" can safely be ignored.

The next rev of PC-Doctor will recognize this condition and make the appropriate adjustments.
