I'm running Win 7 64bit Home Premium.  It came with PcDoctor installed on it.  I've had it for four months.  But, today, I got a warning from my software firewall about pcdrui.exe which it identified from its heuristics as potentially dangerous.  Can you tell me what that file is/does and whether it is or is not part of your program and safe to leave on my machine?  Thanks.

genej101,

PCDRui.exe is the main Ui (User Interface) file for PC-Doctor.  It wouldn't work to well without it.

What security software is reporting this as "possibly dangerous"?

Comodo Dragon is my software firewall.  No recent updates to it and I've never run PC Doctor at all, so the popup alert was a little disconcerting.  None of my other tools found any issues - Eset Nod antivirus, MalwareBytes and Spybot.  Comodo is outstanding though - it passes Steve Gibson's simulated attacks with a 100% rating everytime I've run that tast.  So I tend to trust it, but perhaps this instance was some sort of false positive.  It still thinks there is a threat, it is listed in the threat alert log.

genej101,

Well, nothing is 100% in the software world especially on the security side.  PC-Doctor is low level hardware diagnostic software,  maybe this is what Comodo thinks is "possibly dangerous".  This is odd since PC-Doctor is installed by manufacturers on literally millions of systems.  I would think they would have seen this before in testing.  Maybe an email to Comodo support is in order.

I would put pcdrui.exe on the ignore list and move on.
