Does version 7 have updated CD and DVD drive tests comparing to version 6?

Also is DOS version upgraded for CD and DVD tests?

Thanks

gregplus,

Yes it does.  PC-Doctor is constantly evolving, keeping up with new hardware and refining tests.

There are hundreds of builds done each year for the top OEM's.  Each new version of Service Center incorporates these developments for your testing pleasure.

I'm new to using pc doctor and I'm trying to test the dvd drive and it keep asking for data media and I insert the dvd cd that comes with the service center kit and it keep asking for more things.  Is there a procedure in place to follow so that I can do a correct test on the dvd and cd drives.

gregplus,

There are 2 sets of test media that come with your kit CD and DVD.

In windows the CD tests require the CD media and the DVD tests require the DVD media.  In DOS it will test whatever is inserted into the drive.

If you have the proper test media inserted for the selected tests then either the media is bad or the optical drive does not recognize it.  You can test this by choosing the CD tests and inserting a CD that contains data (one other than the PC-Doctor media).  It is conceivable that you were given bad test media, this will confirm whether it is good or bad.
