Hi,

I would be grateful if someone here can answer my question:

We are currently using PC-Doctor v1.2.4 for a product that runs on linux OS (kernel version: 2.4.20). We have plans to upgrade the kernel version by porting a 2.6.20 (or so) version on it. As such, what are the options that we have with respect to PC-Doctor ? Does it require a recompile of the PC-Doctor binaries to be compatible with a 2.6 kernel ? or will the same binaries work well on 2.6 if unchanged ?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

-Raviteja

Raviteja,

It is doubtful it will work properly with a current Kernel without using current PC-Doctor code. The Linux version has been running on and being developed for the 2.6 Kernel base for over 5 years.  If you are running 6+ year old diagnostic code it is time for a refresh. Please give your sales rep a call and we will figure out how to best assist you.
