Greetings! This is my first post to the forum.
I am planning to purchase a copy of PC Doctor's Utilities 2008 to deal with a couple of issues with a Dell laptop that a friend of mine recently picked up. One of the issues is that there is a Windows password window that was activated and unfortunately he does not know the password. By using the above noted PC Doctor's utilities, I understand that I can reset this password. My question is, how does one gain control of the laptop so that I can change the Windows (or for that matter the BIOS etc) password? I do not believe that the computer even goes to the CD drive before the password is entered (but I could be wrong - I'm far from a PC expert:-) ) Bottom line, I am trying to understand how the software would be activated on the laptop.

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards

QRPham,

PC-Doctor is a hardware diagnostics program.  It is used my most OEMs in manufacturing and is included as a pre-load on systems.  We also have a Service Center product designed for use in smaller computer repair and System Integration companies.

The program you are writing about is from someone else so I can not help or answer your questions.
