MSI
Hello all, and I really hope you can help.
Been using the PC Doctor 6 kit at my work for a while and it makes me life a lot easier and customers love the diagnostic printouts. My store has had a kit for about a year and this is actually one of the first time I have gotten a PCI Post card hex value that I needed help with.

I am getting a C0 readout on the post card.

I am assuming this is an MSI motherboard because of the MS beggining the model #, however HP specs are not stating bios version.
I cannot boot or post to check bios type or revision. However on another site, it said AWARD bios was used on that board.

The fans turn, and power comes up. The power supply is tested ok, and all the power LED's light on the post card. There is no display on onboard or using a PCI video card. There is no post beeps at all, even with all Memory chips removed.
I currently have just the power supply connected to the bare motherboard, power switch, and processor, that is it, all USB and other peripherals are disconnected.

The customer said he "plugged in his ipod to a USB port and a power error came up on the screen (???) and he shut it down and now nothing"

Lowtek,

HP BIOS POST codes can be found at:
http://www.bioscentral.com/postcodes/hpbios.htm

The C0 code indicates “Try to boot with Int 19”.
At this point the system should be attempting to boot off of the drive A: boot block.

Given the system is unresponsive I would attempt the BIOS Recovery for that system.  The BIOS Recovery involves downloading a valid BIOS file and placing it on a floppy drive, removing the battery from the unit and in some cases setting a jumper.  When power is applied to the unit it will go out to the floppy drive and load the BIOS it finds there.
