Memory Test
 ??? I running the memory test and it froze on test 23 of 38.  Does this signify, the memory is bad?  Or what can we conclude from this?  Thanks.

It certainly indicates something is wrong.  Please try the following.
Run the PM Memory tests.
If there are 2 ram sticks in the machine, swap them and re-run tests.
Let me know the results.

It would also be helpful to know the computer make and model as well as the version of PC-Doctor you are running.

PC-doctor 6 professional.

I finally got to see the error in the test happen in the extended memory, medium pattern test. 

My main concern is, i want to know its not the slots which are bad.  Anyway to find that out? 

I re-ran the test and they get held up in different parts, but never get passed the extended memory.

HP a2140n AMIBIOS.

The way to narrow it down is to move the memory to different slots.  Swap the ram in slot 1 with the ram is slot 2.  If the test now hangs on the base memory test that is a good indication that you have a bad ram chip.  If it acts exactly the same and hangs in extended memory it is an indication that the slot or something affecting that slot is bad.

Did you run the PM Memory tests?
What make and model system is this?
