Title: Video Test Fail
Post by: cuffylad on December 13, 2007, 04:52:18 am
Hi can you help me, I have ran the video card test and it fails at the ATIVideo Memory Test section (error code WC316-6W).

The rest of the test after this continues but says unknown error for "framebuffer", "ATIcolourline", "ATIPCIESnoopedblit", "ATIPCINonSnoopedblit"

My memory card is Radeon X1600.

Have no idea what all the above means? Is this gonna cause me a problem?

Thanks

Hi Cuffylad,

I would suggest updating your driver to the latest version for the Radeon X1600. You can find it either from your computer vendor's web site, or directly from AMD's website.

These tests have been designed to verify that your video memory and your PCI-e slot is working correctly. However, these tests depends on the video driver working correctly. If the tests start passing after you have installed the updated driver, then your video hardware is most likely fully functional.

Thank you for the question. Please keep us posted.

Cheers.

cuffylad,

What is the make and model of your PC?  Looking through the knowledebase there have been a few issues with ATI video cards in the past.

If you would please run the System Information report from service center and post it, or send it as an attachment in an email to support@pc-doctor.com, that would help.  Please run it with the following parameters; System + Connection + Advanced (set these in the bar right below the file menu of SC6)
