Title: PC-Doctor Toolbox vs Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox?
Post by: kreddy on September 05, 2013, 10:47:42 am
Hello! I have a ThinkPad W510 with a system board I want to test. I'm wondering, is there any difference between the diagnostics available through the ThinkVantage Toolbox 6 (the newest version) and the new PC-Doctor Toolbox? Not sure if I'd end up paying for what I already have, or missing out on something I don't. Any info very helpful.

Hello Kreddy,

ThinkVantage Toolbox and PC-Doctor Toolbox have some differing functionality, but the diagnostics are similar.  ThinkVantage Toolbox has not been updated in some time so the diagnostics will not be refreshed for newer hardware.  However what you have should be sufficient to test your system.  PC-Doctor Toolbox adds supports for Windows 8 and is tested on newer chipsets and platforms.  So if you end up upgrading your operating system or replacing your computer you would want to get the latest Toolbox.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues.

Thanks,
Kris
