Title: HP DV2500 (DV2928SE) No Video
Post by: Thomas K on December 04, 2012, 08:15:17 pm
This laptop comes up, with no video, but seems to power up fine.

It has 512 MB, and I swap that out for 2GB, both of which gives no change

No Hard drive in it currently.

I get 4 beeps, but no video.  External gives no video either, but not sure if its the cable, or the laptop.

Any ideas?

yes, all lights come up on the top.

Ideas?

Thomas -

A search for HP and beep codes came up with this link at HP's site:

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02222922&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en

Which suggests there was a failed BIOS update or the BIOS has become corrupted.

Colin

I actually figured it out this morning.  I found a link somewhere, that suggested the keyboard.

it was, I reset the cable connection underneath, the display came up without a problem.

Now I just have to find the damn elbow connector I took out months ago when I was getting ready to tear it apart.

However, now SC 7.9 is showing a CMOS Pattern failure, which I think I will have to switch the battery on.

Thanks Colin!
