I recently was having some problems with my hard drive on an IBM Thinkpad R51 Laptop. The vendor returned it and I tried using the IBM 'Rescue and Recovery' software that came with the machine. This utility restores the machine to its factory settings.
Now I am trying to run the PC-Doctor application but getting the following error:
'This version of PC-Doctor for Windows is not licensed for this machine.'
Can anyone explain why I am getting this error?

abnewallo,
There are a couple of things that could cause this, older BIOS or older PC-Doctor software.
Make sure you have the most current BIOS on your machine. The latest Bios can be found on the IBM site at:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-50273 (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-50273)
Download the latest version of PC-Doctor for your Laptop directly from the IBM website.
Windows Version:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67520 (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67520)
Dos Version (bootable CD):
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-56222 (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-56222)
This should get you going.
