Is there a way to open a 2nd or 3rd cmd.exe while running WinPE SC?

I want to run a program or two from another disk, and sfc also, without killing sc itself..

Hi Thomas,

The Bootable Diagnostics CD with PE that was provided with Service Center Premier kits is a limited version of Windows PE that is designed to limit customer confusion and present a straight forward interface.

You are welcome to attempt to create your own bootable PE environment, but due to licensing limitations from Microsoft, I am unable to provide step-by-step instructions to configure a PE environment for use with Service Center. I am however able to offer some basic suggestions so that you can create your own PE disk.

I can confirm that all of the files necessary to create a Windows PE 2.1 image can be obtained from within Microsoft's website. Once you have begun the process of creating your own image, you can copy the following folder from the Service Center CD in order to run Service Center from within PE:

D:\sc\bin
(Replace D: with the location of your Service Center CD)

Once you have finished the creation process for your custom version of PE, you can then load the image on to the bootable media of your choice (e.g. CD or USB). Then you can boot into your custom PE environment, and simply run the "sccui.exe" file located within the "bin" directory. Please remember, that just like using Service Center within Windows, you must have the Multipurpose USB Device connected to the system being tested at all times.

I apologize for the lack of detailed instructions, but this is the only information I can provide on the creation and use of Windows PE with Service Center.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues.
